| "That's no moon..." - Obi-Wan Kenobi |
The Death Star: An imposing battle station featured in Star Wars, specifically Episode IV: A New Hope.
Within the universe of Star Wars, the ability for the Galactic Empire to build such an impressive piece of machinery was no small feat. The Death Star was speculated to be as large as a small moon and had enough power to destroy an entire planet.
As far as MONUMENTS go, The Death Star represented the dominance, industriousness, military power, and ultimate authority over the galaxy the Empire wielded. It was ultimately destroyed by a fleet of Rebel ships due to a vulnerability in the ship's construction.
What does that say about the nature of monuments?
